out of my kitchen, I am trying to feed you!

Stories from the Kitchen

Whenever I’m in the kitchen

My husband loves his iPhone camera. Away from the salon, I love to cook.. can you guess where I’m going? Yes, whenever I’m in the kitchen it’s ‘point’, click’ and “Wait! Move to the left! Good, now do that thing with the noodles again!” from the one-man film crew.

And whilst he might well be poised for cinematic greatness I’ve been hands-on all day and I am thinking I might yet have to lay more hands on; if you get my drift. Just saying:-)

A baffled client

Admittedly, clients love Agnelo’s Instagram posts. But one of them’s baffled. “Saroj,” she asked “how the hell do you manage to run a salon 6+ days a week, post your cooking to Instagram as often as you do, run a home and actually have a personal life?”

Solemnly, I reply, “Well, all of it is really connected you know – it’s just a continuation of what I love to do but in different places. I am a paragon of virtue, a multi-skilled 21st century woman who can mop the floor, stack the dishwasher, wash, dry, fold and iron a load of laundry, create a stunning culinary experience without batting an eyelid and then retire to a night of passionate love making. Nothing phases me at all.”

We both laugh uproariously at that.

And a secret dream…

Once in a while I dream that all iPhone cameras have self-destructed, never again to make an appearance in the kitchen. In this dream world, Instagram is just a funny word for ‘instant telegram’ and its purpose is to tell Agnelo to DESIST AND REFRAIN FROM FILMING ME WHEN I AM ATTEMPTING TO FEED YOU!

Just dreaming 🙂
