Greetings

A lot of ‘my ladies’ are mums – for the most part, young mums with toddlers but occasionally mums with grown up children, like me. Two women of very different ages sat chatting over a cup of Chai (the customary greeting at Prana to settle in and forget the outside world for a while). The younger woman asked “Do you have children?” The other pondered for a moment, beamed and replied “You know, it’s been the longest time since anyone asked me that. How kind of you!”

How easy it is to be a little dismissive and forget that whilst their children are now adults; fundamentally, nothing has changed at all. Older women are still ‘mums’: less ‘hands-on’ certainly, imperfect yes. In the best of worlds they are wise enough to hand the generational batton on and remain quietly watchful; just in case…

To you all, respect and thanks. HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

Q&A (letters from YOUR desk)

Q. Hi Saroj. I know Indian women prize the health and beauty of their hair, but what treatments do they use that we in the West should know about?
Thanks, Lizbeth. April 2016

A. What a good question! Firstly, Indian women strongly believe that real beauty comes from the inside and that delicious and healthy food, exercise and philosophical beliefs go hand in hand with Ayurvedic practices. Because of this, we use only natural herbs, coconut oils and fruit extracts on our hair. As you can imagine, we avoid chemical preparations like the plague! Our PRANASHIRA hair treatment uses only the purest of ingredients and massage techniques to gently massage the scalp and leave even the most dry or course hair healthy, strong and lustrious.

Come and try for yourself Lizbeth!

Until next time ~ Saroj
