touch is the most compassionate human trait

The Healing Power of Touch

This most basic of human needs is where bonding begins and – if we are very lucky – heals and nurtures us throughout life.

Healing Energy

For me, the power of touch is perhaps more important than any individual treatment. When someone is in my care, it doesn’t really matter whether they are enjoying an ayurvedic massage, a facial, or anything else.

The importance lies in the emotional and physical response to the transfer of healing energy. For both therapist and client, it is a profound experience.

The Simple Act of Caring

As therapists, we must always conduct ourselves ethically and professionally, employing rhythms and techniques long established through the principles of healing. At the same time (and perhaps more importantly), we are engaged in the simple act of caring. For those who place their trust in us, caring simply cannot be faked.

In this, I am fortunate and grateful for each opportunity to express both my craft and my humanity. When stress ebbs away and is replaced with smiles (and sometimes even tears) as clients release their pent up emotions; it is a blessing.

Connect as Human Beings

“That felt so very nice. I feel loved and cared for”. Indeed. Those words always move me, and they find an echo in my own humanity. Just as I am devoted to you – so our shared experience nurtures me.

Emotional or physical pain is alleviated and we experience contentment. We have connected as human beings. No longer strangers, we are made stronger and more resilient through the healing power of touch.
