come to us

You are Still Visible

Saroj I want to give my dear mum a special birthday present soon and I’m wondering whether you do home visits? She’s getting on in years and rather stiff around the joints these days but I’d love her to enjoy one of your fabulous massages. She is able to get out and about but generally avoids outings (though we enjoy our weekly lunch and shopping trips). We both live in Hillarys… would you be able to come to us?

Thanks, Jen

Would you be able to come to us?

Jen I am very willing to come, but I want to offer another viewpoint before we arrange that: if someone is elderly, perhaps frail but otherwise fairly mobile, it does them a power of good to break free of their normal environment. Your weekly shopping trips are allowing your mother to participate in life – she is not at risk but neither is she isolated and invisible. So I do genuinely feel that we should respect your mother’s autonomy and legacy: that she still belongs ‘in society’ and is not forgotten.

Importantly Jen, being in my own space allows me to prepare and meditate for each client… my purpose here is to clear my mind between appointments so that I can focus on the treatment ahead.

Our salon has ambient lighting, candles, fresh flowers and warmed towels to calm and refresh mind and body. It also has everything I need: Ayurvedic oils, comfortable beds and refreshments to fulfil a rewarding massage. Only when everything is in place, I am able to respect your mother. And so we begin…

If your mother is willing to visit us, I promise is that she will (like you and I have on so many occasions) feel renewed; even joyful… Saroj

Leave it at home! For almost all of us, first impressions count. They strongly indicate not only how you’re going to be treated but whether you’ll come back again to this salon. Thinking about winning awards… When Leonardo DiCaprio accepted his first Oscar in 2016 (he’d waited a long time!), it got me thinking about what awards really tell us… what those ‘Legend Awards’, ‘Lifetime Achievement Awards’ and Brownlow Medals etc. actually reward – who selects them and why. Not quite in that league but still highly…
