braz waxing not dead yet

From Liberty Bodice to Liberty

Charlotte Rampling walked through my door, or someone from her vintage and with much of her style anyway! This very fashionable lady was clearly comfortable in her own skin but what she wasn’t comfortable with was embarking on her first Brazilian Wax…

We had chatted privately over the phone before her appointment… a ‘woman to woman’ discussion which covered the treatment itself (naturally). But more broadly, about how women in their late teens to 30s generally take Brazilian Waxing treatments for granted, while women 55 (and beyond) were virtually ignored as clients.

She was intelligent and witty, saying, “I seem to have gone from childhood liberty bodice (look it up), to feminist with no bra, to invisible woman!”

We laughed, but her words rang true. Why is it that the women who fought for our sexual liberation suddenly ‘disappear’ once they pass 50?

It shouldn’t be so… and it isn’t at Prana!

Her session with me was just another first for her, another milestone in a life well lived… free of judgement and worth celebrating. How good is that?

Prana proudly sets high professional and personal standards for itself – but in a largely unregulated Australian beauty industry, how do potential clients know which salon has fully trained staff with certification, diploma or degree qualifications?
