A day in my life as a Beauty Therapist

The daughter of a friend of mine studies at UWA and works part-time in a South Perth restaurant. Another’s son has graduated and is on sabbatical overseas.

What have these young people in common with the life of a beauty therapist and salon owner? Both are preparing themselves for something they believe in…

Namaste. Welcome To My World as a Beauty Therapist

The relaxed atmosphere of a beauty salon belies the work of everyone on the frontline: making sure the workspace and equipment are scrupulously clean, the towels and bedlinen soft and freshly washed, personal presentation and hygiene impeccable.

Behind the scenes, we have an absolute adherence to honest business principles. For clients, it begins when they step through the door to be greeted by a refreshing cup of Chai (a Prana custom which sets the scene for an apparently effortless experience).

All I want my clients to experience is bliss – not what is ‘going on’ with the salon in terms of scheduled appointments or the challenge to keep abreast of new treatments, refine the ones we specialise in and the trainee development no serious salon would ignore etc. This is your time.

A Day In My Life?

Do everything you do with love, even the most humble of tasks. When you feel that way, work is a pleasure. Learn. This is where you’ll find purpose, meaning and quiet satisfaction.

xx Love, Saroj
