The Power of “Thank You”

In Western society, saying Thank You is much like ‘Namaste‘… the prayerful greeting which acknowledges, respects, and thanks you. How powerful it is!

So beautiful…

A friend of mine once sat sadly in her local hair salon… pensive, unhappy and seemingly engrossed in her book while her hair dried. As the lady sitting next to her rose to leave she gently touched my friend on the shoulder. Wordlessly, she used the power of touch to show that she saw, acknowledged, cared about and respected… a complete stranger.

For me, this demonstrates most beautifully the principle of ‘Namaste. I thank her eternally, and I recommend it to everyone!

Thinking about winning awards… When Leonardo DiCaprio accepted his first Oscar in 2016 (he’d waited a long time!), it got me thinking about what awards really tell us… what those ‘Legend Awards’, ‘Lifetime Achievement Awards’ and Brownlow Medals etc. actually reward – who selects them and why.
