Your Skin is One Big Sponge!

Your Skin is One Big Sponge!

It’s no surprise that most of us fixate on food and exercise, bombarded as we are with well-meaning advice from nutritionists, celebrity authors (especially this time of year), ‘foodie’ Blogs, health and fitness gurus with DVDs to sell.

Indeed, reputations are built and vast amounts of money are devoted to promoting all of the above – but the great irony is that very little is said about the absolute importance of what we put onto our skin.

As a beautician with a professional and ethical preference for all things natural, I am puzzled by this.

Why is it that we go to so much effort in one or two directions whilst at the same time we don’t think twice about the healthiness or even the efficacy of what our skin absorbs?

After all, our skin is one big sponge and chemical or artificial ingredients are easily absorbed, leaching toxins into the bloodstream (often with latent side-effects)…

A skin care product I recommend…

I am as impressed as anyone with the advances we make in science which alleviate pain, repair limbs, inoculate us against disease and so on… but in the sensible care of our skin I remain certain that Nature cannot be faked and therefore I proudly recommend Clinical Skincare products.

Naturaceuticals

Clinical Skincare is a vanguard for the new wave of skincare products known ‘naturaceuticals‘ – a marriage between naturally sourced cosmeceuticals and ingredients which result in a hybrid range of skincare products as close to nature as possible.

Their products help to influence the structure, function and appearance of the skin and contain high levels of active ingredients such as vitamins, phyto-chemicals, enzymes, anti-oxidants, peptones, essential oils and free-radical ‘spin traps’ (a recent addition to facial rejuvenation options for the treatment of aging skin), which influence the biological functions of the skin.

Prana

Thus, whether you visit the salon for Facial Treatments to reverse sun damage and reduce the appearance of lines and wrinkles – or simply to enjoy the healing benefits of touch using natural oils and lotions with our Ayurvedic Massages – one thing is for sure – you can trust that Prana has your best interests at heart.
